*Today at church the topic was about temples, specifically about how our temple covenants can bring peace when people we love have stepped away from their covenants. Unfortunately, this is a very relevant topic to almost every member of the church, as we watch loved ones and friends let the oil in their lamps burn out, for whatever reason is important to them at the time. The speakers gave very personal examples from their own lives, and I couldn't help but reflect on those that I know who are choosing another way. I loved the reminder they gave from Sister Tamara Runia's October 2023 General Conference talk, "Seeing God's Family through the Overview Lens." Like Lehi, we stand at the tree and keep eating the fruit, with smiles on our faces, beckoning to those we love, showing that eating the fruit is a happy thing. When they're ready, they may turn again to the fruit. We can be there to welcome them.
*Today I had prepared my Primary lesson as outlined, but it still felt kind of disjointed. I didn't know if it would flow together very well. I prayed that we could have the Spirit with us in our class, and I think I saw that manifest with help today to say the right things to make everything make sense.
It was a delight!
